LATE WW2 JAPANESE ARMY OFFICERS SWORD late WW2 Japanese Army officers sword, overall length is 38.3/4" , the blade is 26" from notch to the tip, the blade is in good condition with only minor marks, no bends or problems, hamon visible and no edge nics. the tang is signed and dated 1945.
there is also a small stamp above the signed side close to the hole. good handle with tight original binding and normal late war fittings, solid tsuba, locking catch has the very end gone and looks to be a replacement, all the other fittings are original to the
blade, they fit well and tight. the saya is light brown painted metal with standard fittings. a good example of a late war officers sword.
